World XI to beat Kiwis; But there is no Kohli, space for three Indians

Mumbai: The New Zealand cricket team defeated India to win the inaugural World Test Championship. Is there a team in world cricket capable of beating the Kiwis, led by Kane Williamson? India captain Aakash Chopra has been named in the World XI for the match against New Zealand. But captain Virat Kohli has no place in the three-man squad.

Akash Chopra has selected the team based on his performance in the World Test Championship. Chopra’s dismissal of Kohli was due to his poor performance. The fact is that Kohli is not among the top 10 runners-up in the championship, which started in August 2019. Apart from Kohli, Pakistan captain Babur Assam was also left out of the XI.

Rohit Sharma, Rishabh Pant and Ravichandran Ashwin are the three Indian players in the team. England’s Joe Root is the captain.

Along with Rohit, Sri Lanka’s Dimuth Karunaratne will be the opener. Rohit scored 1094 runs in 12 matches and Karunaratne scored 999 runs in 10 matches. Marnus Labushein, the champions’ top scorer with 1675 runs in 13 games for Australia, is third. Joe Root and Steve Smith are at four and five, respectively, with 1660 and 1341 runs.

At number six was English all-rounder Ben Stokes. With 1334 runs and 34 wickets in 17 matches, Stokes was selected to overtake Jadeja and Holder. Rishabh Pant is the wicket keeper, overtaking Jose Butler. The ball was declared a game changer and scored 707 runs.

Ravichandran Ashwin (71) is the lone spinner in the team. Australia’s Pat Cummins (70), Stuart Broad (69) and Josh Hazlewood (48) were the pacers. Hazelwood has been named in Chopra’s squad, overtaking Mohammed Shami, Antri Norze and Mitchell Starc.
