Armando Broja’s loan to
Chelsea B Vitesse Arnhem has been a big hit so far, just as it had been with several other Chelsea loans before. The 19-year-old has already managed 9 goals and 2 assists in just 13 league starts on his very first foray into senior professional football.
His last in either category came yesterday against 15th place in VVV-Venlo, while helping Vitesse to a 4-1 victory. In just the third minute of the match, Broja launched into the opponent’s box and squared the ball to his other center forward, Loïs Openda, who threw the shot into the net.
The assist was good, but Broja’s goal was even better, although it made us wait until the 82nd minute. He himself started the movement with a brilliant ball from deep to Matúš Bero, who spun wonderfully and cut the ball for Broja to drop it in the bottom corner. A great game for two indeed!
Broja has been one of Europe’s most prolific young forwards this season, and a tougher mission surely awaits next season. With Chelsea superiors would have beware, there is no doubt that the sky is the limit for the young man!
Having now also taken the time to check out other leagues, no teenager in top football in Russia, Portugal, Ukraine or Belgium has scored more than Broja either, so it’s totally fair to say that he is the most marked teenager in the best European leagues.
