Kozhikode: Police have taken action against the youths who violated the lockdown restrictions and came for tourism on Kattippara Amarad hill. Police also seized 18 bikes belonging to the youth. Thamarassery police arrested the youths for violating the lock down restrictions.
Some of the seized bikes were driven by the police and the others were taken to the Thamarassery police station in a lorry. The vehicles of those who left the place were brought to the station after the police arrived. Police said the owners would be charged with lockdown violation, non-compliance with social distance and failure to wear a mask, check vehicle records and join other departments.
The police investigation was carried out following a complaint from the locals that a large number of youths were regularly arriving in the area. Most of them are from Koyilandy, Koduvalli, Pannur, Kattippara, Iyyad and Ambayathode. Thamarassery SIs Sreejesh and VK.
