Kochi: Customs will issue another notice to Kodiyeri Balakrishnan’s wife Vinod in the iPhone controversy. According to customs sources, the plan is to hand it over directly to the house or hang it on the wall if no one is around. The move comes after a mobile phone was found to have been used in connection with a controversial case involving dollar and gold smuggling.
The notice sent by post to his home address in Vattiyoorka asking him to come for questioning last Wednesday was returned as it was unoccupied. Vinodini claimed that the notice was sent by email but was not received. In this case, the notice is to be issued again.
Unitac owner Santosh Eepan had said that he had bought six iPhones on the instructions of Swapna Suresh to get the Life Mission contract. Customs found that a SIM card taken in the name of Vinodini Balakrishnan was used in one of the phones.
