New Delhi: A high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday assessed that by the end of December, the entire country will have access to the required vaccine. The meeting discussed the progress made after the launch of the free vaccine program for all and the availability of vaccines. In the last six days, 3.77 crore people have been vaccinated. The Prime Minister pointed out that this number is larger than the population of Malaysia, Saudi Arabia and Canada.
In 128 districts, more than half of those over the age of 45 have been vaccinated. In 16 districts, 90 per cent of those over 45 were vaccinated. The Prime Minister demanded that the current vigor in the matter of vaccination be maintained. The services of NGOs and other organizations should be utilized for this. He also directed the officials to ensure proper coordination with the states.
There has been great interest globally in the case of the Covin platform. The Prime Minister suggested that countries interested in this should be assisted.
