6,303 more people in Britain have tested positive for COVID-19, bringing the total number of coronavirus cases in the country to 4,280,882, according to official figures released on Thursday.
The country has also reported 95 other coronavirus-related deaths. Britain’s total coronavirus-related deaths now stand at 125,926. These figures only include deaths of people who died within 28 days of their first positive test.
More than 25.7 million people in Britain have received the first coronavirus vaccine, according to the latest official figures.
Earlier on Thursday, the UK Medicines and Health Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) confirmed that the vaccine’s benefits in preventing COVID-19 far outweighed the risks, calling on people to continue receiving AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine.
The statement came after a growing number of countries in the European Union suspended use of the AstraZeneca vaccine as a precaution, based on reports of blood clots in people who had received the vaccine. (ANI / Xinhua)
