Kannur: The UDF boycotted the peace meeting convened by the district collector in connection with the clashes in Panur. The UDF leaders boycotted the meeting alleging that the police did not take strong action in the Mansoor murder case. The UDF leaders said that the police had arrested only the accused who was handed over by the locals hours after the murder and it was objectionable that the other accused were not caught.
There is no hope of getting justice from the police. League activists have been detained and brutally beaten for allegedly attacking CPM offices without arresting the culprits in the murder case.
