The victim died while rescuing a young man who went missing in a river

Kodancherry: The body of a youth who went missing in Chooramunda yesterday drowned while being brought ashore. The deceased has been identified as Jayaprakash, 55, of Pulikkayam. Jayaprakash was upset when the body of Ansar, a native of Kinassery, who went missing in a flood the other day, was brought ashore. Wife: Indira, children: Leena and Anjana.

A young woman died and one went missing after she was swept away by a flood in Kodancherry Chalippuzha last day. The deceased has been identified as Ayesha Nishila, 21, wife of Perumanna Puthiyottil Irshad. Ansar Mohammad, a native of Kinassery, went missing. Jayaprakash was confused while rescuing him.

The group was coming down from Wayanad Kambalakkad to bathe in the river. They reached Pulinchottil in Churamunda Chalippuzha on two bikes at 3 pm on Thursday. Locals said they saw the group sitting on high cliffs in the calmly flowing Chalipuzha. Later, while the group was bathing, the four drowned in the strong mountain water. The rescue operation was started by the locals after the swimmers informed the nearby house.
