A train connecting Delhi to Tanakpur district in Uttarakhand rolled back more than 35 kilometers after developing a technical problem. He was eventually arrested in Khatima, nearly 330 kilometers from the national capital.
According to reports, the driver of the Purnagiri Jan Shatabdi Express had to apply the brakes to avoid a collision with a cow that had strayed on the tracks. After the incident, the driver lost control of the locomotive and the whole train began to back up.
The visuals show the train passing through a station at considerable speed. What’s unusual about the clip is that the train pulls the locomotive, amid taunts from onlookers.
After the train stopped at Khatima, the passengers were sent to Tanakpur by bus.
A technical team from Uttar Pradesh’s Pilibhit reached Khatima to investigate what led to the incident.
