The Supreme Court directed the Center to prepare a guideline

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has asked the government to provide financial assistance to the families of those who died of corona infection. The Supreme Court directed the Central Government to prepare guidelines in this regard. The proposal is to be ready within six months. The government can decide how much to pay. The order was passed by a bench headed by Justice Ashok Bhushan.

The apex court has directed the government to pay Rs 4 lakh as compensation to the families of those who died of corona infection. The decision had to be taken in accordance with the National Disaster Management Act. It is also suggested that the guidelines for death certificates be simplified. There should be a system to record the death certificate as corona. The Supreme Court also directed that there should be no lapse in this regard.

So far, 3,98,454 people have died of corona in the country. It is estimated that the Center will have to set aside at least Rs 16,000 crore to compensate these people. The Central Government can take an independent decision in this regard.
