The Google Shopping app is down

Google will shut down the Shopping app, due to redundancy with what users can already do with the Online Shopping tab, according to a 9to5Google report.

Google has reportedly said it is ending support for the Shopping app on Android and iOS, and that customers will work until June.

Google recently worked on expanding shopping functionality through its search, image search, and YouTube, and also worked on leveraged augmented reality.

“We will continue to build features in the Shopping tab and other Google surfaces, including the Google app, that make it easy for people to find and buy the products they love,” said a spokesperson. Google’s word, according to the report.

Google Shopping version 59 has already started to deploy with a “Something went wrong” message, which prompts users to “continue shopping at”. However, there aren’t many details on what this post implies for unaware users, the report says.

Android and web interfaces are essentially identical experiences. The “Home” feed also contains a list of recommendations for other products that may be of interest to you, as well as a list of “saved” articles.

The 9to5Google report notes that Shopping doesn’t need its own unique app, as many users just end up using search when looking for products, and the tech giant will be able to save resources by closing the app. .
