Bangalore: The first phase of Bineesh Kodiyeri’s bail plea in a drug trafficking case has been completed. Bineesh’s lawyer argued in court that the allegations made by the Enforcement Directorate against Bineesh Kodiyeri were baseless. Bineesh’s lawyer argued in court that the Narcotics Control Bureau did not respond to Bineesh in the drug case.
The lawyer said that the incident where the debit card of Mohammad Anoop was found during the raid on Bineesh’s house in Thiruvananthapuram was a drama of the ED. The case is set to resume next Monday. ED’s counter-argument will take place after Bineesh’s lawyer’s argument is over.
This is the 11th case before the Karnataka High Court. Bineesh has been denied bail by the court ten times in the past. The case was adjourned last time, citing the need for a detailed hearing. Bineesh Kodiyeri, who was arrested in October 2020, has been lodged in Parappana Agrahara Jail for 239 days. Bineesh finally filed a bail application citing the health of his father Kodiyeri Balakrishnan.
