‘Strong stance on violence against children’; Twitter with explanation

Delhi: Twitter has made it clear that it has a strong stance on violence against children.
The company’s explanation comes after a lawsuit was filed alleging child pornography. Twitter has stated that it will strictly remove content that violates its rules and will work with the legal system and organizations to do so.

The National Commission for Women has voluntarily filed a case against the spread of pornography on Twitter. The Women’s Commission has ordered the removal of pornographic images circulating on Twitter within a week. The commission also wrote to the Delhi Police Commissioner seeking action in the matter.

The Pok‌mon department has filed a lawsuit against Twitter for spreading child pornography. The Delhi Police voluntarily registered a case against the MD. The Women’s Commission also intervened in the incident. The complaint was lodged against Twitter INC and Twitter Communications India Pvt Ltd, Delhi Police said.

The police had also registered a case against the Twitter MD for publishing a map of India incorrectly on the website. The map of India was published on Twitter showing Ladakh and Jammu and Kashmir outside India. Following the complaint, Twitter removed the map from its website.
