Rohit Sharma is at the crease with 32 runs
Ahmedabad: India lost four wickets in the fourth Test against England. India lost Cheteshwar Pujara early in the second day. Pujara, who scored 17, was dismissed by Leach. Soon after, Indian captain Virat Kohli returned without scoring a run. Ajinkya Rahane’s 27-run knock fell to Stokes, leaving India reeling. Rohit Sharma remained unbeaten on 32.
By the end of the first day, India were 24 for one in 12 overs. Opener Shubhman Gill was dismissed for no runs. Rohit Sharma (eight off 34 balls) and Cheteshwar Pujara (15 off 36 balls) were at the crease.
England were all out for 205 in the first innings. England were bowled out for 205 in 75.5 overs. For India, Akshar Patel took four wickets, Ashwin three and Mohammad Siraj two. Washington Sunder took one wicket.

England had a bad start. Openers Crawley scored nine runs, Sibley two and Root five. Siraj knocked down the route when Akshar Patel dismissed Krawli and Sibli. Ben Stokes, who scored a half-century, was knocked out by Washington Sunder. Ben Stokes is England’s top scorer with 55 runs.
India are leading the four – match series 2-1. After losing the first Test, India made a good comeback by winning the next two Tests. The fourth Test against England must be at least a draw for India to reach the final of the ICC World Test Championship. If India lose to England in the fourth Test, they will go down in the points table and Australia will play New Zealand in the final. Therefore, the fourth Test is crucial for both the teams.
