Sony’s Google Bravia X80J TV series launches with 4K HDR and Dolby Atmos

Sony launched Google’s new X80J TV series with a 4K Ultra HD LED display in India on Friday. The new series includes smart TVs in five different sizes.

Sony launched Google’s new X80J TV series with a 4K Ultra HD LED display in India on Friday. The new series includes smart TVs in five different sizes. These include the Bravia X80J 189 cm (75 inch), 165 cm (65 inch), 140 cm (55 inch), 126 cm (50 inch) and 108 cm (43 inch) models. The range includes a 4K HDR panel, Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos support, among others.

One of the highlights of the new series is that it has built-in Google TV which allows users to browse up to 7+ lakh movies and TV episodes from their streaming services. It includes support for Google Assistant. The built-in microphones on the TV allow for a hands-free experience.

The KD-65X80J series model will be available in India from April 9, 2021. It is priced at Rs 1.30 lakh (approx). The TV will be available at all Sony Centers, major electronics stores and e-commerce portals in India. Sony has also announced that new X80J series models from 108 cm (43 inches) to 189 (75 inches) will be released soon.

The new X80J series is built with new and improved X-Protection PRO technology. It is said to be equipped with superior protection against dust and moisture and has passed Sony’s lightning tests, which means your TV is protected against lightning strikes and power surges. The TVs also support Apple Home Kit and AirPlay. Users can integrate their Apple devices such as iPads and iPhones with their Sony TVs for streaming. The Sony X80 series is powered by the X1 4K HDR image processor.

All models support content scaling, which means that even images shot in 2K and Full HD can be scaled to near 4K resolution by 4K X-Reality PRO at the using a single 4K database. The television is also equipped with the TRILUMINOS Pro screen. The TRILUMINOS Pro algorithm can detect color from saturation, hue and lightness for enhanced display.

For sound, the TV is equipped with an X-balanced speaker function. The range also supports Dolby Vision and Dolby Atmos.

For audio, the new series includes X-balanced speakers designed to complement the sound quality and slimness of televisions with its unique new shapes. It is supposed to deliver clear sound.
