Shoaib Akhtar tears up PCB after PSL suspension, calls on PM Imran Khan to intervene

Former Pakistani fast launcher Shoaib Akhtar has expressed his displeasure with the postponement of PSL due to the Covid-19 outbreak. He has now launched a new attack on “incompetent PCBs” following such an event. In his latest video, he lambasted PCB chairman Ehsan Mani and the medical committee, and called on Prime Minister Imran Khan to take matters into his own hands.

He went on to say that CEO Wasim Khan had become the scapegoat and was the only person running the show on the board.

“The medical panel should be punished and I am asking the higher authorities because they played with people’s lives… All the blame was on Wasim Khan and he was asked to face everything. Who brought Wasim Khan? Ehsan Mani (brought him). Where is Mani Sahab? Is it Wasim Khan’s responsibility to answer here? Ehsan Mani should give the answer, ”Akhtar said in a video shared by the former cricketer on his YouTube channel.

“You (PCB) have played with people’s lives and at the same time you have played with the reputation of the country. Where is the president of PCB, where is Mani? Come to the foreground and respond. You damaged Pakistan’s reputation by ruining PSL. I ask the higher authorities and the Prime Minister to look into this issue. It is an insult to Pakistani and Pakistani cricket, ”Akhtar added.

Previously, the PCB had been suspended after three other players tested positive for the deadly virus. The number has now grown to seven since the tournament began on February 20.
