| Sania and Ankita move to Tokyo

New Delhi: Sania Mirza and Ankita Raina will be paired for India in the women’s doubles at the Tokyo Olympics.

Sania is set to become the first woman to compete in four Olympic Games for India. Ankita Raina is set to make her Olympic debut. Sania and Ankita are playing at Wimbledon. The two were in opposition in the mixed doubles.

Sania competed with Rohan Bopanna and Ankita Ramkumar with Ramanathan. In the first round, Sania and Bopanna won. Ankita and Ramkumar lost in straight sets. Score: 6-2, 7-6. In the women’s doubles, Ankita will compete with Lauren Davis of the US and Sania Bethany will compete with Mattax Sands. Sania and her team advanced to the second round.
