Samsung’s first mid-range 5G device, Galaxy M42, arrives in India

Samsung is set to launch the Galaxy M42, its first mid-range 5G smartphone in India, later this month, which will be priced between Rs 20,000 and Rs 25,000, industry sources said on Monday. .

The Galaxy M42 will be the first “ M ” series smartphone with 5G connectivity.

Industry sources have said that the IANS Galaxy M42 is expected to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 750G processor and is expected to launch in 6GB and 8GB RAM variants.

The Galaxy M42 will also receive “Knox Security”, the first for a Galaxy “M” smartphone.

Samsung Knox provides multi-layered security for smartphones and defends the most sensitive information against malware and malicious threats.

The Galaxy M42 5G will be available on Amazon.in and Samsung.com, in addition to select retail channels.

Samsung launched a number of 5G smartphones in India this year in the premium segment.

Samsung’s most premium foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold2, features 5G connectivity in India.

All three Galaxy S21 variants launched in India support 5G connectivity.

Samsung also recently launched the 5G variant of the Galaxy S20 Fan Edition in India.

The Galaxy M42 is seen as Samsung’s big foray into the mid-segment category, where Samsung has a significant market share in India.

Samsung is a global leader in 5G smartphones and analysts expect the company to focus more on building a strong ecosystem of 5G devices in India in the coming months.
