Director Gunasekhar’s upcoming pan-Indian film ‘Shaakuntalam’ has a big update and it’s revealed by none other than superstar Samantha Akkineni trying out the title role. Dushyant’s role in this film is very meaningful and in announcing it, Sam introduced the new face.
Well that’s Malayalam actor Dev Mohan. “Here is the presentation of our Prince Charming… DUSHYANT @ActorDevMohan,” Samantha tweeted with a video. But it’s just the name, not the person.
When searched the internet, Dev’s Instagram handle pops up at the top and he looks decent. He’s a model turned actor and he only has one old movie and that too was an OTT release in 2020.
Strangely, director Gunasekhar went for a new face instead of a star hero for this role and that can be attributed to his genre. “Shaakuntalam” is more of a film geared towards women and so Guna preferred this decision.
Meanwhile, the film’s pre-production work is in full swing. Large sets are being put together and filming is slated to start in April or May.
