Antilia bomb fear case: ‘Sachin Waze asked his team to capture CCTV footage’
Bombay: In the Antilia Bomb Scare case, the NIA alleged a conspiracy in which the key role of Deputy Police Inspector Sachin Waze is suspected. The Waze team made a statement to the NIA, where it was revealed that they had asked the team to capture CCTV footage of the residential complex where Waze was residing.
Sachin Waze was arrested by the NIA in connection with its investigation into the recovery of explosives from a car parked near Mukesh Ambani’s house in Mumbai.
Apparently Waze was trying to cover up his tracks and that’s why he asked for the CCTV footage and other evidence. His team, however, said it was part of their regular investigation and that they were complying with his orders.
Politics gears up for the role of Waze
BJP leader and former chief minister Devendra Fadnavis on Wednesday asked why Waze was brought back to Mumbai police last year after his suspension in 2004.
“The question is why API Sachin Waze was re-appointed. He was suspended in 2004, took VRS in 2008 and later his VRS was not accepted due to an investigation against him. In 2018 , Shiv Sena lobbied to have him reinstated, but I refused, ”Fadnavis said.
“In 2008, Sachin Waze joined Shiv Sena, became their spokesperson and maintained a business relationship with them. Although he was aware of the 2017 extortion case against him, the government headed by Shiv Sena brought him back in 2020, under the guise of an officer shortage due to Covid., “he added.
However, Shiv Sena chief Sanjay Raut dared BJP chief Devendra Fadnavis to name Sachin Waze’s “political leaders” if he had any evidence. Raut said Fadnavis should not resort to anything that demoralizes Mumbai police.
“If the opposition thinks that the transfers were made under any pressure, then that is wrong. The Uddhav Thackeray government did not make the transfer under pressure from anyone. It is our moral responsibility until then. that the investigation into these transfers take place. ”Raut said.
