Rumor: Ford to launch EcoSport SE by March 10, 2021

The Ford EcoSport SE will not have a tailgate-mounted spare tire, which matches the EcoSport sold in global markets. In fact, the report claims that the SE will not have a spare tire at all when it leaves the factory.

In February 2021, we reported that Ford had started shipping a new variant of the Ecosport called the SE to dealerships, which would ship without a tailgate-mounted spare tire. Now, according to a media report, pricing for the Ford EcoSport SE will be announced by March 10, 2021. The news comes just after the company released a Bollywood-themed teaser for the vehicle yesterday.

As previously mentioned, the Ford EcoSport SE will not receive a tailgate-mounted spare tire, which corresponds to the EcoSport sold in global markets. In fact, the report claims that the SE will not have a spare tire at all when it leaves the factory. Instead, it will receive a Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS) and a puncture repair kit. The car’s rear license plate will be housed on the tailgate instead of the bumper. The bumper, in turn, will sport a silver skid plate.

The EcoSport SE could be offered with the same engine options as the regular model. These include a 1.5-liter, BS6-compliant 3-cylinder petrol engine with 120 hp and 149 Nm and a 1.5-liter diesel engine developing 99 hp and 215 Nm. comes with a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission while the diesel comes with a 5-speed manual.
