RSS-Orthodox Church meeting in Kochi, political situation discussed

Cochin: Orthodox Church bishops meet RSS national leadership as election approaches. The church leadership met National Joint General Secretary Manmohan Vaidya at the RSS office in Kochi. The bishops said the political situation was discussed, including the church dispute.

Bishop Geevarghese Mar Julios in charge of the Ahmedabad Diocese of the Orthodox Church and Bishop Jacob Mar Irenaeus in charge of the Kochi Diocese visited the RSS office. National Co-ordinator Manmohan Vaidya had arrived from Gujarat this morning. The bishops of the Orthodox Church said that the current political situation in Kerala, including the church dispute, has deteriorated.

The assessment of the RSS nationalist is that the BJP can take root in Kerala with the support of the Christian communities in Kerala. The meeting was also in this context. The RSS leadership is also meeting with other church leaders. The Orthodox Church has criticized the Left government for cheating in the church dispute and the UDF for not taking a definite stand.
