Xiaomi’s Redmi line is often considered a good choice for users looking for good value for money. However, the company could aim much higher with its next device. Redmi’s CEO teased a new gaming smartphone some time ago. Now there is new information about a Redmi smartphone that aims to target the gaming audience.
A tipster by the name of Digital Chat on Weibo has leaked some specs for Redmi’s purported gaming smartphone. One of the tipster’s biggest reveal is that the new smartphone will feature MediaTek’s Dimensity 1200 chipset. While this cannot be directly opposed to a chipset like Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888, the chipset has a slightly higher clocked frequency. The chipset is built on a 6nm architecture.
The phone should receive an OLED display panel. However, Xiaomi can introduce a punch hole on the screen. To support demanding smartphone hardware, the device can accommodate a 5000mAh battery. This device has been reported to have a 65W fast charger which should fully charge the device within 30 minutes.
Another factor that will help it compete with other players in the segment are the shoulder triggers which offer greater functionality as well as more screen space to operate.
