New Delhi: The BJP has ridiculed former Congress president Rahul Gandhi for saying that the state of emergency was wrong. Union Minister Prakash Javadekar told a news conference that Rahul’s remark was ridiculous.
Rahul says the constitutional institutions were not weakened during the emergency as the RSS does today. It will take a long time for the Congress leader to understand the RSS. The Union Minister also claimed that the RSS was the largest school of patriotism in the world.
He was speaking at a webinar organized by Cornell University. Rahul said the state of emergency declared by the late former prime minister and his grandmother Indira Gandhi was wrong.
Rahul claimed that his grandmother had told him that he knew the emergency was wrong.
