Pushkar Singh Dhami elected new Chief Minister of Uttarakhand This is Tirath Singh Rawat’s resignation from the post of chief minister for the third time in four months due to a dispute within the ruling BJP.
Pushkar was elected at a meeting of 57 MLAs at the party headquarters in Dehradun. Pushkar is close to Union Defense Minister Rajnath Singh. Pushkar, 45, is a second-time MLA from Khatima constituency.
Pushkar was the special officer of former chief minister Bhagat Singh Koshyari. Uttarakhand is set to go to the polls next year.
