Prince Philip, the husband of Queen Elizabeth II has died at the age of 99. Since then, the news broke, the whole world mourns his disappearance. Prince Philip has spent more than seven decades supporting his wife in a role that has defined his life. Messages of condolence are pouring in from all sides on social networks. Bollywood actors like Aftab Shivdasani, Pooja Bhatt, Saba Ali Khan and many more took to their social media handles to express their condolences. Pooja Bhatt tweeted: ‘The end of an era in more ways than one’, as Saba shared a rare photo of Prince Philip with Queen Elizabeth paying homage to him. Philip spent four weeks in hospital earlier this year being treated for an infection to undergo heart surgery, but returned to Windsor in early March. The flag at Buckingham Palace, the Queen’s residence in London, was lowered to half a stick after the news of Philip’s death was announced. The royal family’s website featured a black and white portrait of the prince. The Duke of Edinburgh, as he was officially called, had been by his wife’s side throughout his 69-year reign, the longest in British history. During this time, he gained a reputation for a tough, unadorned demeanor and a propensity for occasional blunders.
