Prime Minister Narendra Modi had a telephone conversation with Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud on Wednesday.
They reviewed the functioning of the Bilateral Strategic Partnership Council established in 2019 and expressed satisfaction with the steady growth of the India-Saudi partnership, the prime minister’s office said.
The PMO statement said Modi expressed his desire to further develop trade and investment between the two countries, during the conversation. He also highlighted the opportunities that the Indian economy offers Saudi investors, he added.
They both agreed to continue to support each other against COVID-19, in a spirit of friendship between India and Saudi Arabia, the statement said.
Modi reiterated his invitation to the crown prince to visit India at an early date, he added. They reviewed regional and international developments of mutual interest, the PMO said.
