PM Modi launches the Covid-19 vaccination campaign as he receives the 1st dose, appeals to those who are eligible

Coronavirus live updates: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today took the first dose of the coronavirus vaccine and called on those eligible to follow suit. “I took my first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine at AIIMS. Remarkable how our doctors and scientists have worked quickly to strengthen the global fight against COVID-19. I appeal to all those who have the right to be vaccinated. Together, let’s make India free from COVID-19! “Said the Prime Minister on Twitter while launching the next phase of vaccination against Covid-19 in India. India will now expand its vaccination program to cover people over 60 and over 45 with co-morbidities among a growing number of more infectious virus strains and a surge of cases.

Registration on the Co-WIN2.0 portal will open at 9 a.m. today. Citizens will be able to register and make an appointment for vaccination, anytime and anywhere, using the Co-WIN 2.0 portal or through other IT applications such as Arogya Setu. According to the ministry, there will be a registration facility on-site so that eligible beneficiaries can enter identified vaccination centers, register and vaccinate. Eligible persons will be able to register on the Co-WIN2.0 portal via their mobile phone number, through a step-by-step process.

With a mobile number, a person can register up to four beneficiaries. However, everyone who is registered to a mobile number will have nothing in common except the mobile number, the ministry said. The photo ID number of each of these beneficiaries must be different. Citizens can use any of the following photo ID documents to register online: Aadhaar Card / Letter, Election Photo ID Card (EPIC), Passport, Driver’s License, PAN Card , NPR smart card or pension document with photo.
