Thiruvananthapuram: The UDF will not take Janapaksham secular leader PC George MLA in the front. The UDF leadership informed PC George about this. PC George also rejected the UDF’s suggestion to support Poonjar if he becomes an independent candidate. With this, PC George has activated discussions with the NDA.
The I Group, led by Ramesh Chennithala, had argued that bringing PC George to the forefront would ensure victory in Poonjar and gain in Pala, which is preparing for a tough contest. But Group A and local leaders warned of a setback if George came to the front.
Meanwhile, PC George has joined the NDA ahead of the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. George joined the NDA by announcing that he was with the believers on the issue of Sabarimala women’s admission.
