Part of Amitabh Bachchan’s house in Mumbai to be demolished for road widening | Oman weather

Mumbai, India): The Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has started complying with its 2017 notice to demolish part of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan’s Prateeksha Bungalow for road widening.

BMC has given notice to Bachchan’s family for road widening that part of their Pratheeksha bungalow plot will be acquired for the widening of the Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg road. BMC also asked investigators from Mumbai Suburban Collector City to delineate the exact part of the bungalow required for the road widening project.

Sant Dnyaneshwar Marg connects the Chandan cinema district with Link Road towards the Iskcon temple.

Lawyer Tulip Brian Miranda, city councilor, while speaking to ANI, asked why BMC’s work had been completed for all other houses except around the Bollywood actor, and said the key project had been blocked.

The BMC warned actor Amitabh Bachchan in 2017 of this situation as part of the winding road policy. The wall of the land adjoining Bachchan’s bungalow was taken and the drainage created. But Bachchan’s house was left untouched, ”Miranda said.

She added: “When the notice was issued, why was the land not taken? It belonged to an ordinary person, they would have taken it immediately under section 299 of the notice of the Municipal Act that says you don’t have to wait for a second notice of appeal. “

The lawyer added that despite repeated attempts, she could not reach the authorities until she threatened to surrender to Lokayukta.

“I wrote to the BMC in February 2021. I did not receive a response, so I had a telephone conversation with the ward officer and wrote to the commissioner but still have not received a reply. Answer. This is a very necessary project as there are two schools, a hospital, an ISKCON temple and monuments in Mumbai are nearby. The winding road project was suddenly stopped because of Amitabh Bachchan’s bungalow, ” she added.

“I started the commotion and followed them in February. I am very happy that this work resumes when I said that I will go to Lokayukta if this particular order is not respected and if the notice is not given. consumed, ”she added.

Miranda further said authorities immediately drew up an investigation into the city and requested a new delineation of the property.
