Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan welcomes Hindus to Holi

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan Sunday greeted the Hindu community on the opportunity of Holi.
The festival is celebrated in Pakistan on Sunday and Monday.
“I wish all of our Hindu community a very happy Holi, the festival of colors,” the Prime Minister tweeted.

Several other leaders, including the Speaker of the National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, also wished Hindu parliamentarians and the community at large on the special occasion.
“This festival of light and color offers an opportunity to spread happiness,” he said, praising the role of the Hindu community in the upliftment of Pakistan.
Qaiser said all minority communities have the right to openly celebrate their religious holidays in Pakistan.
Hindus form the largest minority community in Pakistan. According to official estimates, 75 Hindu lakh live in Pakistan.
Holi is a Hindu Spring festival, which is celebrated mainly in India and Nepal, but has now spread to other parts of the world. The festival has also become popular among non-Hindus.
