OnePlus Band leak gives us our first look at its “ not so original ” design

Well look what we have here! Barely a day after rumors emerged that OnePlus could have a fitness band in the pipeline, another major leak has surfaced online. And this one claims to give us our first look at the OnePlus Band. The ever reliable tipster Mukul Sharma (a.k.a @stufflistings) shared renderings from OnePlus’ upcoming fitness band, and it looks pretty appealing.

I dig that soft two-tone finish

The leaked renders show us the upcoming wearable OnePlus in three color options, all of which appear to switch to a two-tone finish. The former has a black stripe with a light gray underside, and on the other you also get a light gray trim with an attractive orange finish on the interior side. But the best, in my opinion, is the navy blue stripe with a contrasting lighter shade on the inner side.

The black bezels surrounding the screen and the assembly as a whole provide a uniform design among the three color options. There’s also a fairly large OnePlus branding on the lower bezel, which looks pretty garish. As for features, the OnePlus offer will feature an OLED display, while the features it offers include water resistance and multi-day battery life.

Is a possible start on January 11 on the cards?

According to a recent report, OnePlus will launch its fitness band in India first and sell it for around $ 40. And if everything falls into place, he could debut in February or even January. However, if you take a close look at the leaked renders, the date on the screen says January 11, which is actually rumors circulating on the internet.

Now where have I seen the OnePlus Band before?

Oppo Band (left) vs OnePlus’ upcoming fitness band (right)

Considering the recent history of OnePlus phones generously drawing inspiration from Oppo smartphones, I was a bit skeptical about the design. I delved a bit into the Oppo product portfolio and guess what? The OnePlus Band is identical to the Oppo Band launched in June of this year. Except for the brand and color scheme, the entire design and form factor share a strange resemblance. I see what you did there, OnePlus!
