Jeddah: The Saudi Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development is considering facilitating the payment of levy, iqama and work permit fees in installments to foreign workers in the country. Under-Secretary NG said a study was being conducted on how to arrange for payment four times a year. Hani Almujal said. He was speaking at a webinar organized by the Makkah Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with the Tawif and Madinah Chambers of Commerce on ‘Improving Contract Relations between Employers and Foreign Workers’.
The session was held to review the new employment reforms and to know the views of the private sector in this regard. Currently the levy is payable in a year. The ministry is studying whether it can be done on a quarterly basis and how its potential and challenges can be addressed. The under secretary said that many problems faced by the employers can be solved through this.
