More than five 46 lakh crore doses of COVID-19 vaccine administered in country to date
The cumulative number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered in the country has crossed five crore 46 lakh. These include over 80 lakh health workers who took the 1st dose and around 51 lakh health workers who took the 2nd dose. Over 85 LAKH frontline workers took the first dose and approximately 33 LAKH frontline workers also took the second dose.
The ministry said that over two crore 42 lakh beneficiaries over the age of 60 and over 54 lakh 31 thousand beneficiaries over the age of 45 with specific comorbidities have been vaccinated so far. The Union Health Ministry said more than 15 lakh 20,000 doses of the vaccine have been administered until 7pm today.
Currently, the total number of active cases in the country is over 95,000 lakh, which is only 3.35% of the total positive cases. A total of 53,000,476 new cases have been reported in the country in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of positive cases to over 17 lakh crore.
The health ministry said 251 deaths have been reported in the past 24 hours, bringing the toll to 60,000,692 lakh across the country. The Indian Council for Medical Research said more than 10 lakh 65,000 corona virus sample tests have been carried out in the past 24 hours and more than 23 crore 75 lakh tests have been carried out in the country so far. .
