Martin Braithwaite out for up to three weeks due to injury

FC Barcelona have confirmed an injury to striker Martin Braithwaite, who would keep him away for two to three weeks. The striker was injured during training, suffering from a sprained right ankle.

Ronald Koeman used Braithwaite primarily off the bench when the team needed a goal, often bringing him alongside Francisco Trincão to try and score a goal off the bench.

Braithwaite is the Catalans’ only true ‘number 9’, although he has occasionally been deployed as a forward winger.

Over 39 games for Barca, scoring 7 goals and allowing 4 assists in 1,643 minutes. Perhaps his most important contribution was an overtime winner against Sevilla in the Copa del Rey.

Until then, Braithwaite had been lucky with injuries. He has only missed 3 games so far this season due to his physical form including a thigh injury.

He is set to miss games against Getafe, Villareal, Granada, Valencia and potentially games against Atlético Madrid and Levante as well.
