Chennai: A Malayalee couple infected with Kovid died in Chennai. Both died at intervals of two days. The deceased have been identified as Tambrath Raveendran, 60, and his wife Vandana Nair, 52, of Kollankode, Nesappakkam, KK Nagar.

Relatives said the two had been suffering from fever for about two weeks. They had been missing for a few days and when the relatives searched the house, they were found in a critical condition.

Neighbors and relatives rushed them to the hospital. Raveendran died before reaching the hospital. Vandana, who was undergoing treatment at Kilpauk Medical College Kovid Ward, died at around midnight on Friday.

Raveendran is a former PRO of SRM Group. Vandana Nair is the Additional Vice Principal of KK Nagar Vani Vidyalaya. The couple has no children. He was living alone in a flat in Saipakkam.
