Kochi: The Lakshadweep Education Department office in Kochi has been cut. Five posts have been shifted to the main office in Kavaratti. Officers must report to Kavaratti within a week. The move is part of a reduction in staffing at the Kochi administration office
Earlier, it was recommended that the number of employees in the Kochi offices be increased and reduced. It has also been suggested that the electronic equipment used by the employees should be shifted to the office in Kavaratti.
This office was set up to solve the problems of students coming to Kerala from Lakshadweep for educational purposes. It is estimated that the move by the island authorities will make it difficult for students to study in the state.
