Karnataka to undergo Covid-19 vaccine dry test in five selected districts

A Covid-19 vaccination trial will be carried out on Saturday in five districts – Bengaluru, Mysuru, Belagavi, Shivamogga and Kalaburagi. While the BBMP identified three primary health care centers (PHC), one in the West and South zones and in Anekal, as vaccination sites, the other four districts selected the PHC, the taluk hospital and the district hospital for the immunization program.

The BBMP has identified five immunization agents each for the urban PHC in Kamakshipalya (west zone), the urban primary health center in Vidyapeetha (south zone) and Hargade PHC in Anekal which falls under the urban district of Bangalore. These agents will undergo training on Friday.

Apart from McGann hospital (district hospital), Shivamogga district identified Shikaripura taluk and Antharagange PHC hospital in Bhadravati taluk for running dry.

Dr Rajesh Suragihalli, Health Officer of Shivamogga District, said: “Each site will be managed by five members including a doctor (doctor), two vaccination officers (a man and a woman), a data entry operator.
