Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh separate country on Twitter map; Center for drastic action

New Delhi: Twitter has been embroiled in a controversy with the central government over new IT rules. The Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are separate countries outside India, according to a map on Twitter. Twitter is expected to face tough action from the central government over the new controversy.

The map, which appears on Twitter’s ‘Tweep Life’ section, shows that Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are outside India. Protests are rising on social media over the country’s distorted pardon. According to sources, the Center is considering tough action against Twitter.

At the same time, this is not the first time Twitter has distorted India’s map. Last year, the central government had written to the Twitter CEO in strong opposition to Twitter showing itself as part of China at the Le Geo location in Jammu and Kashmir.

The government at the time warned that Twitter’s attempt to insult India’s sovereignty and integrity was unacceptable. It is also noteworthy that the new provocation comes as the Center comes to grips with Twitter regarding new IT rules.
