The wife of late actor Irrfan Khan, writer Sutapa Sikdar, remembered him in a heartfelt note shared on his Facebook page. She said she struggled to call 2020 the worst year because “ you were still there. ” She also shared some valuable photos of him.
Irrfan died on April 29 after a two-year battle with a neuroendocrine tumor. He is survived by Sutapa and his sons Babil and Ayaan.
Sutapa wrote on Facebook: “It’s so hard to wish 2020 as the worst year because you were still there. Last year on this day next to me gardening, building a bird house, how can I say goodbye to 2020 !! Irrfan I have no idea how to welcome 2021 !! “
Babil also remembered Irrfan at the end of 2020. Sharing photos with her mother Sutapa on Instagram, Babil wrote that they are entering the New Year with Irrfan’s guidance. “With your advice. 2021 ”, he wrote.
The fans sent their love to Sutapa and Babil. “We are next to you and the family. Dear Irfan immortalized himself to stay forever in the hearts and memories of people and friends, ”one wrote. “He will live in our hearts. I can’t imagine your pain… Sending you a tight hug, ”commented another.

Irrfan’s latest release, Anup Singh’s The Song Of Scorpions, hits theaters next year. Earlier this week, Babil shared the animated poster for the film, which touted it as “ a golden chance to see the magician on the big screen one last time. ”
“Once again, maybe not the last. #thesongofscorpions, ”Babil wrote. Sutapa shared the poster and wrote: “A journey from the finite to the infinite. #thesongofscorpions #neverthelasttime. “
After Irrfan’s death, Sutapa shared a statement on behalf of the family, saying it was not a ‘personal loss’ as millions were grieving over it. “I want to assure everyone it’s not a loss, it’s a gain. It’s a gain of the things he taught us, and now we’re finally going to start to really implement and evolve it, ”the statement said.
