Sri Lankan spin legend Muttiah Muralitharan underwent angioplasty at Apollo Hospital in Chennai due to heart problems.
Muralitharan, who was admitted to hospital on Saturday, is the bowling coach of the Sunrisers Hyderabad who are currently playing their 2021 Indian Premier League (IPL) matches in Chennai.
Muralitharan celebrated his 49th birthday on April 17th.
Muralitharan is the largest wicket taker in international cricket with 1,347 wickets which includes a record 800 scalps in tests, 534 in ODIs and 13 in T20 internationals for Sri Lanka.
