The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) beat Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by six points in their Indian Premier League (IPL 2021) game on Wednesday to climb to the top of the table. This is their second consecutive victory in the tournament. They had beaten the Indians of Mumbai (MI) in the first match.
RCB only managed 149/8 after being asked to strike first. In response, SRH was arrested at 143 for nine. Hyderabad skipper David Warner led ahead with a 54 balls of 37, while Manish Pandey contributed with 38.
The two added 83 points for the second wicket and helped their team get closer to the 150 target, but left-arm spinner Shahbaz Ahmed captured three wickets to change the match’s complexion.
For RCB, Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell was the leading scorer with 59 out of 41 balls at MA Chidambaram Stadium.
SRH bowlers produced a disciplined performance with Rashid Khan the footman returning a very impressive 2/18 in his four-overs quota. The most successful bowler for SRH, however, was Jason Holder as he picked up 3/30.
At the top of the order, RCB captain Virat Kohli scored 33 out of 29 balls but his opening partner Devdutt
Padikkal, back in the team after recovering from COVID-19, is out for 11.
Glenn Maxwell was named man of the match for his 59 out of 41 balls.
