As the 14th edition of the Indian Premier League progressed, cricket legend Brian Lara praised Royal Challengers Bangalore’s Malayalee player Devdutt Padikkal. Lara praised Devdam’s consistent performance, though a little disturbing. Playing for Karnataka in domestic cricket, the Edappal native made a splash in the last IPL. Devdut was able to tackle the bowlers accurately in domestic cricket matches before and after that.

Devdut made his IPL debut last season in the UAE. Devdutt, who has scored 473 runs in 15 matches, including five fifties, has stunned skipper Kohli. It is commendable that this Malayalee player was able to be a regular presence in the team through his explosive performances.
“Devdut was a very talented batsman. He batted well and supported skipper Virat Kohli well, scoring a few half-centuries. He has a good chance of scoring centuries this season,” Lara said. Kovid confirmed the death of Devdutt Padikkal on March 22. Since then, the actor has been in isolation at his residence in Bangalore.
Devdut fired a shot at the Vijay Hazare Trophy ahead of the IPL. Devdat, who was the top scorer in the tournament with 737 runs, was caught by Kovid before the start of the Indian Premier League. He lost his first match for Royal Challengers Bangalore. In the second match, however, Padikkal scored 11 off 13 balls.
