The long-awaited labor law amendment for expatriates will come into effect in Saudi Arabia from tomorrow. 90 days notice is required to change jobs within the contract period. If dismissed within the contract period, the employer will have to pay compensation to the worker. Expatriates no longer need the sponsor’s permission to go home for vacation or emergency and to avoid unwanted work.
