We’ve been hearing rumors since last year about how Google might be working on its own smartwatch. Now some renderings have been leaked online and if we follow them up two things can be assumed. Firstly, Google is actually working on its own smartwatch, and secondly, it will be very stylish. Jon Prosser shared a series of renderings of the Google Pixel Watch that the company has reportedly dubbed “ Rohan ”.
Prosser shared the footage from a video on his Front Page Tech YouTube channel and mentioned that they were 3D renderings made from images he received from his sources. However, Prosser was pretty specific about the Apple AirPods Pro, so it’s safe to assume he might be right about the Google Pixel Watch.
We can see from the renderings that the Google Pixel Watch sports a circular bezel-less display and is much thinner than most smartwatches available in the market today. The most remarkable thing about the smartwatch is the crown. The Google Pixel Watch sports colorful silicon bands in the renderings and we can assume these will be detachable. The strap detachment mechanism looks a lot like the Apple Watch, so we can expect it to be an easy-to-slide feature with a magnetic holder.

Judging by the renderings, it’s safe to assume that the Google Pixel Watch will be quite light as it has a slimmer form factor than most other smartwatches available today. We also expect to see touchscreen support among others. The Google Pixel Watch is expected to come with Google’s proprietary WearOS and work in tandem with Google Fit. We’ll also have to wait and find out if the smartwatch is going to have a name other than Google Pixel Watch.
Now the renderings shared by Prosser aren’t official renderings, obviously. But given Prosser’s track record, it could be very close to the actual design of the Google Pixel Watch. Speculation says the Google Pixel Watch could launch in October this year with the Google Pixel 6. We haven’t heard from the Pixel 6 yet, although we do know that the Pixel 5a 5G will arrive around August. We’ll just wait and watch.
