London: The ICC has announced that the final of the First World Cricket Test Championship will be played in Southampton, England. Initially, it was scheduled to take place at Lord’s Cricket Stadium, but the venue was changed due to the expansion of the Kovid.

India and New Zealand will meet in the final. BCCI President Sourav Ganguly had earlier announced that the final would be played in Southampton.

The match will be played at the Hampshire Bowl in Southampton. The new venue has been announced by the ICC and the England and Wales Cricket Board. Competitions will be held in full compliance with Covid standards. Very few spectators will get a chance to watch the match.

New Zealand is the first country to qualify for the World Test Championship. India then topped the table with a 3-1 series win over England in the final.
