Sabarimala ∙ Governor Arif Muhammad Khan visited the shrine. His youngest son Kabir Arif was also present. Governor Ganapathy reached Pampa at 5.10 pm yesterday and tied the knot. Swami Ayyappan walked along the road and was accompanied by a team of police officers and doctors. It took an hour and a half to reach Sannidhanam.
After resting at the guest house due to Padipooja, Ayyappa entered the 18th step at 8 pm and performed darshan. Tantri Kanthar Rajeev handed over the blue silk to Ayyappan to the Governor. Melshanthi VK Jayaraj gave Potti Prasad. After performing darshan at Malikappuram temple and Vavaru Swamy’s Nada, we stayed at Sannidhanam for the night.
Nirmalya Darshan will be held today at 5 am. To commemorate the visit, sandalwood will be planted at the Malikappuram temple premises. The governor will return after participating in the ‘Punyam Poonkavanam’ clean-up drive. On his arrival at Sannidhanam, the Governor was received by Devaswom Board President N Vasu, member KS Ravi and Devaswom Commissioner BS Thirumeni.
