Earlier this week, actress Alia Bhatt unveiled Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Gangubai Kathiawadi teaser and received encouraging responses from audiences and celebrities alike. From Shah Rukh Khan, Akshay Kumar, Farhan Akhtar to Priyanka Chopra, Ram Charan, SS Rajamouli and Varun Dhawan, everyone has praised the teaser. Now Pinkvilla has a new update on this highly anticipated film and its principal lady. A source close to the development informs that Alia will be singing for this upcoming period drama.
“Alia is a very good singer, while Mr. Bhansali is a famous songwriter, so the duo decided to collaborate for a song in the film. The composition will take place in a more intense space and MM. Bhansali and Alia are looking forward to it, ”the source informs. Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn will start shooting the film from tomorrow, where the actress will also join him. A massive Ajay character’s house set was created in the Filmcity studio in Mumbai.
Interestingly, Alia has already lent her voice for Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania’s unconnected version of ‘Samjhawan’, for ‘Humsafar’ in Badrinath Ki Dulhania and for Udta Punjab’s ‘Ikk Kudi’ with Diljit Dosanjh.
Gangubai Kathiawadi is inspired by a chapter of Hussain Zaidi’s novel, Mafia Queens of Mumbai. The acclaimed author also praised the teaser. “The teaser is really good and Alia is absolutely gorgeous. I’ve always been sure Mr. Bhansali is someone who would do this story justice, and I think Mr. Bhansali and Alia did an amazing job,” he said. he said to Pinkvilla.
