Pakistani Shaheen Shah Afridi is expected to get engaged to the eldest daughter of former Pakistani captain Shahid Afridi, Aqsa Afridi. According to Pakistani media reports, Shaheen’s family sent the proposal which was accepted by Shahid Afridi’s family. Shaheen and Shahid Afridi’s daughter, Aqsa, is 20 years old.
According to a Geo TV report, Shaheen’s father Ayaz Khan confirmed to media that the two families, who have a long-standing relationship, have agreed to the proposal. An official engagement should be announced soon. The report further adds that a source from Shahid Afridi’s family revealed that the proposal had been under discussion for two years.
Confirmation from the Pakistani pacer’s family came after speculation raged on social media about the duo’s engagement. Afridi was fortunate to have five daughters, namely Aqsa, Ansha, Ajwa, Asmara and Arwa. Aqsa, 20, is the oldest of the five.
Shahid Afridi, who is a famous figure in Pakistan, is expected to make an official announcement soon. Speaking of Shaheen, he made his international debut for Pakistan in April 2020, in a T20I match against the West Indies. The left arm stimulator has come a long way since then and has established itself as a vital cog in the Pakistani national team in all formats.
Shaheen impressed with his pace and precision early in his career and was accelerated in the national team. He has since become an important member of the squad and performed well for the Men in Green. The left arm stimulator has so far performed 15 tests, 22 ODI and 21 T20I for Pakistan.
It has 48 wickets in test matches and 45, 24 in ODI and T20I respectively. Shaheen recently became the youngest stimulator to hit the 100 wicket mark in T20 cricket. He surpassed Jasprit Bumrah, who achieved the feat at the age of 23 years and 57 days.
