New Delhi: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has been banned from campaigning by the Election Commission. Campaigning by any means is banned from 8pm today until 8pm tomorrow.
The action was taken after it was found that Mamata had campaigned in violation of the code of conduct and exploited communal sentiments. There was a massive campaign to ban Mamata from campaigning.
The Election Commission had issued a notice to Mamata Banerjee for making racial slurs while speaking during the election campaign in Tarkeshwar. The Muslim Brotherhood has one thing to ask. Do not divide the minority vote by listening to the evil forces. This is what Mamata Banerjee said on the campaign trail. The commission issued the notice on the basis of a complaint lodged by Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi.
